East Leesville Elementary School, founded in 1953, is affiliated with Vernon Parish School District. Located in Leesville, La., the school provides a variety of educational and cocurricular programs to more than 500 students in prekindergarten through grade one. It offers a variety of programs, such as English, arts, music, science, social studies, mathematics and physical education. East Leesville Elementary School also provides preschool, Head Start, special education, speech, English as a second language, reading, writing, spelling and enrichment programs. The school has a parent-teacher association that focuses on increasing awareness and participation in curriculum and policy development by enhancing communication between home and school.
