      The staff at Chafin Law Firm, a Professional Corporation, knows it is important that a law firm understand the needs and concerns of its clients. Having been born and raised in Russell County, A. Benton Chafin, Jr. shares the concerns of all citizens in Southwest Virginia. Since the beginning, Chafin Law Firm, P.C. has expanded our legal services and our physical location. The Burns building, the three story brick structure directly across from the Russell County Courthouse, serves as our offices. Our location provides easy access to the Courthouse for our clients and staff Chafin Law Firm, P.C. has a large and experienced support staff which enables us to meet the needs of our clients efficiently. The majority of our staff were born and raised in Southwest Virginia and they have strong personal attachments to the community and its needs. Our staff prides itself on their responsiveness to clients and our quality of work. The Firm The Practice Established in 1986 In 1985, A. Benton Chafin, Jr. returned to his hometown of Lebanon, Virginia to practice law after receiving his law degree from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. After working as an Assistant Prosecutor for Russell County, Virginia, Benton founded his practice in 1986. Katherine Crabtree, Associate Attorney, is a graduate of Honaker High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Virginia's College at Wise. She received her J. D. from the Appalachian School of Law in 2010. Katherine has served as the law clerk to the Circuit Court Judges of Tazewell and Russell Counties. She was employed as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Russell County prior to joining Chafin Law Firm in October of 2013.
