I was looking for a barbershop today on my way home and I saw the Barbers Pole next to the old Silver Dollar Lounge. I’m disabled mobility wise so I didn’t want to walk far as I need a cane. I parked and went in.
There were two barbers working as it was about 9:00 am. Pleasant Spanish music was playing from the speaker system and everyone in the shop appeared to be Latino/Hispanic. No problem even if I’m a 67 year old white dude who doesn’t speak a lick of Spanish. I had a problem getting out of the waiting chair because it sat low to the ground but I was immediately assisted by a customer and another barber helping me stand up. A Barber in the far corner signaled me to come to his chair. I did. He did not speak English, but had a cool poster showing different hair styles with numbers. I pointed out the style to him #9, and he went to work. I really liked the air hose they use to get excess hair out of your face and off your clothes, instead of just a brush.
The haircut was a really good,, one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The Barber was very professional and even trimmed my eyebrows without asking. I did want them done. The haircut cost $20.00 and I tipped him $5.00 as it was worth it. I highly recommend this Barbershop to all! The service was great and the price is fair. I only had to wait maybe five minutes.
