The Lebanon Police Department works to preserve peace and reduce crime through the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws and ordinances. It maintains a communication center that responds to various emergency and nonemergency calls. The department operates a citizens police academy that provides training programs related to laws, firearms instruction, defensive tactics, criminal investigation and patrol procedures. The Lebanon Police Department conducts a neighborhood watch program and organizes departmental tours. It hosts Project ChildSafe, which is a nationwide firearms safety education program that distributes safety kits to children. The department also provides business and residential alarm permits.
