Gehlen Catholic School, founded in 1950, offers educational programs for students in grades kindergarten through 12. Its curriculum includes reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling, English, mathematics, science, social studies, computer application, technology, business, foreign language, and physical and health education. In addition, it provides recreational and fun activities that include music, band, jazz, pep, choir, theater and play. The school offers various extracurricular programs for students, such as the National Honor Society, National Geographic Bee, student council, quiz bowl, chess club, Christian leadership team and Spanish club. Its athletic programs include baseball, softball, football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, track and golf. The school participates in community service projects that include food drives and fundraisers for hospitals. Gehlen Catholic School is located in Le Mars, Iowa.
