Southwestern Medical Center is a 199-bed hospital that provides a comprehensive range of medical services. The center specializes in: diagnostic imaging, emergency services, neurology, neurosurgery, nuclear medicine and orthopedic surgery. SWMC provides extensive respiratory services, physical medicine, speech and language therapy, complete diagnostic radiological capabilities, a full-service medical laboratory, social services and nutritional counseling. SWMC was the first hospital in Lawton to be awarded “Accreditation with Commendation” – the highest level of accreditation awarded by the Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest accrediting body. The Southwestern Rehabilitation Center was the first rehabilitation facility to receive a three-year accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This is the highest level of accreditation achievable. Southwestern Medical Center is the first Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center in Southwest Oklahoma. The Joint Center at Southwestern Medical Center is the first in Southwest Oklahoma and the second in the state to receive Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement from the Joint Commission. The physician staff at the hospital represents 25 different medical specialties. It is an affiliate of RCCH Healthcare Partners and is in partnership with St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.
