- General SurgeryDr. Mohammed Al Fayyadh is board-certified in general surgery and board eligible in colon and rectal surgery. He specializes in Colon and rectal surgery, minimally invasive robotic, laparoscopic, open and anorectal surgical procedures.
- Minimally Invasive SurgeryA procedure typically lasts for 2 1/2- 3 hours, but may take as long as 6 hours depending upon the specific situation. Most colon resections performed by our surgeons are Laparoscopic, or minimally invasive surgery. During a minimally invasive procedure a series of small incisions, from a quarter of an inch to four Inches, is made in the patient’s abdomen. A small video camera, or scope, is placed in one of the Incisions, providing your surgeon with a magnified view of the patient’s internal organs on a monitor. Surgical instruments are placed in the other incisions, allowing the surgeon to work inside arid remove the diseased portions of the colon.
- Laparoscopic SurgeryDr. Simon is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery. His focus is compassionate surgical care which includes minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, anorectal pathology and inflammatory bowel disease management.
