Located in Lawrence, Kan., Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association is a non-profit organization providing a range of health care and associated services for senior citizens. It offers home health and hospice services, along with cottage and private care. The organization further offers nursing, physical, speech and occupational therapy, lymphedema therapy and Home Health Aides (HHA) that assist patients in their completion of activities of daily living, such as bathing, light meal prep and personal care. Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association's hospice services include pharmaceutical services; spiritual, dietary and other counseling services; care during crisis periods and bereavement services, among others.
