South Junior High School is a public coeducational school that serves more than 600 students in grades seven through nine and offers a wide variety of academic and extracurricular activities. The junior high school offers a variety of academic courses, including English, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, foreign languages, and physical and health education. It offers a variety of facilities and student services, including a cafeteria, crisis intervention, counseling, health screenings and immunizations. The junior high school provides a wide variety of athletic activities, such as cross country, golfing, gymnastics, swimming, baseball, softball and soccer. Its media center provides a large online database and has a collection of various books, magazines, journals, dictionaries and encyclopedias. Located in Lawrence, Kan., the junior high school is operated by Lawrence Public Schools.
