EDUCATION Rachel Shirley, DO, graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and minors in chemistry and Spanish. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center: Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. She completed a five-year residency in general surgery at LSU Health Shreveport. EXPERIENCE Dr. Shirley is a breast surgeon at Comprehensive Cancer Centers. Prior to joining Comprehensive, she completed a fellowship in breast surgery at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio and is board certified in general surgery. Dr. Shirley frequently speaks at various hospitals and community centers. She is impassioned about educating the community about breast health and early detection of breast cancer, as well as surgical options and different treatments for those who have been diagnosed. PERSONAL Dr. Shirley enjoys reading, traveling, and being outside. She is married with a daughter and has a bulldog named Baxter. She is fluent in Spanish.
