Local native Kristy McPherson is a licensed psychologist, PhD in Counseling & Psychology from the University of New Mexico specializing in EFT couples counseling and individual therapy. She maintains a private practice in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Kristy collaborates with her training specialist husband, David, and together they facilitate marriage retreats, workshops, and groups on a local level. Welcome! I'm Kristy McPherson, a licensed psychologist who applies transformational principles in a brief, short-term therapy model. I enjoy hearing people's stories, the longings of their hearts, unfulfilled dreams, spiritual journeys, and seeing hope restored. I love working with couples and utilize the most successful couple's model currently available, Emotionally Focused Therapy. Instead of finding the bad guy, I partner with the couple and work to strengthen the emotional bond between them by identifying core longings. The results usually include expressions of love, commitment, and acceptance whereas the spin cycle of frustration, arguing, stonewalling, and despair seem to lessen, and in some cases, disappear.
