Established in 2002, Bonnie L. Garcia Elementary School offers educational programs to students in grades kindergarten through six. The school's curriculum includes reading, physical education, special education, music, the language arts, English, math, science, social studies and basic skills. Located in Laredo, Texas, the school is operated by the United Independent School District, which was established in 1961. The district provides academic programs to more than 37,000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12.
