The best donuts you will ever eat, especially the apple fritters. I've been buying them for years, whenever i'm passing through Lapeer. I live in Saginaw and call ahead a day or two, and they always have them ready. Actually, back in the late 80's I used to deliver the donut flour from Grant Sysco Food Service.

My Husband buys a baker's dozen of pastries and donuts every weekend. The turnovers are flaky and amazing. The donuts are delicious as well, all of the flavors, and be sure to try them all. Max's adds new flavors and types of pastries often so be sure to go back and try new things, they are always yummy. My kids love Max's too, there are times during the week we get pastries as well. And the prices are very reasonable. And they are great for parties, we've had four to six dozen for parties looking great on platters and they were cleaned down to the crumbs!!

Not a full service bakery with breads and cakes, only donuts. I personally favor the cinnamon sugar fry cake but also enjoy an apple fritter. They are open at 5 am.
