- Dental ExaminationComprehensive exams allow our professional staff to assess the condition of your gums and their position along your teeth. Our staff will work with you to develop an exam schedule that meets the needs of your oral health so that you can maintain your healthy smile.
- X-rays
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOral cancer kills more people each year in the U.S. than skin cancer and cervical cancer combined. At Trillium Dental, we perform oral cancer screenings using both visual inspection and manual palpation. In addition, we have the latest technology in oral cancer detection, which helps our dentists visualize abnormalities in the mucosal tissues of your lips, mouth, and upper throat. An oral cancer screening examination will allow your dentist to more accurately assess your overall oral health.
- Teeth CleaningThe best way to prevent excessive plaque buildup is to schedule a professional cleaning with a dentist or dental hygienist every six months. Plaque that is left untreated can lead to unhealthy gums and tooth decay. A routine dental cleaning lasts about one hour and will usually include scaling and polishing.
- Fluoride Treatment
- Dental SealantsSealants are used as a preventative measure to help fill in narrow grooves in a tooth that cannot be adequately cleaned by brushing. In many individuals, the tooth’s structure may contain several fine grooves or pits, which can accumulate plaque.
- Fillings
- Resin CompositeThere are two procedures used by our dentists at Trillium: direct and indirect. The direct technique usually involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using a procedure called bonding, while the indirect technique usually involves two appointments since the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory.
- VeneersIf your teeth are chipped, stained, or gapped, then veneers may be a good option for you to consider. Veneers are a widely used cosmetic dental procedure used to cover the outside, visible area of the tooth. They may also be used if the enamel on your teeth is badly worn or if your teeth are not properly aligned.
- CrownsAre you missing one or more teeth and want a permanent replacement solution? A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is placed over a tooth, helping to restore its shape, size, strength or to improve its appearance. A crown not only strengthens a tooth, but also can dramatically improve a tooth’s appearance, shape, and alignment. When a crown has adhered into place, it will fully encase the entire visible portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line.
- BridgesIf you have damaged or missing teeth, you may need a bridge. Dental bridges literally bridge the gap caused by one or more missing teeth, where one or more artificial teeth are cemented into place using the teeth on either side for support. Bridges are very durable and can last a lifetime with extra care and by practicing good oral hygiene.
- Dental BondingIs an innovative and proven tooth bonding technique that uses digital technology to deliver your beautiful new smile. It was developed by our own Dr. Bill Villemot! Because of SmileBOND’s
- Restorative DentistryEveryone deserves a healthy, beautiful, painless smile. Restorative dentistry helps us to give you just that, reducing or eliminating any issues that are causing you dental pain and discomfort.
- Root Canal TreatmentRoot canal treatment — or endodontic therapy — is necessary when a cavity is neglected, allowing it to penetrate all the way to the pulp. Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal therapy. Once this occurs the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone, which would be considered an abscess.
- Apicoectomy
- Deep Cleaning
- DenturesIf you have lost some or all of your teeth due to gum disease, decay or accidental impact, dentures can dramatically improve your smile. A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and their surrounding tissues. Our dentists may suggest full dentures or partial dentures, depending on how many natural teeth you have lost and the condition of your existing teeth.
- OverdenturesOverdenture: A removable denture that fits over a small number of remaining natural teeth or implants. The natural teeth must be prepared to provide stability and support for the denture.
- Dental ImplantsA dental implant is an artificial tooth substitute that replaces missing tooth roots. Dental implants restore lost chewing ability, improve appearance, end embarrassment, and give real self-confidence to patients who need them. Because of proven success, preservation of existing teeth and no susceptibility to dental decay (cavities), dental implants are a great answer to missing teeth.
- Oral SurgeryAs a comprehensive and full-service dental practice, we perform oral surgery right in our Lansing office. This helps to minimize the stress, fear, and uncertainty for our patients.
- Tooth ExtractionsFor a simple extraction, we will first apply a local anesthetic to prevent pain and discomfort. The tooth will be loosened with a tool called an elevator and then removed with dental forceps. Once the procedure is complete, the area may be closed with one or two stitches.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsOther options include the straightening power of Invisalign, a type of invisible orthodontic therapy. Many adult patients prefer Invisalign treatments as opposed to traditional orthodontic brackets.
- BracesTeeth that function properly also tend to look better. An attractive smile is a pleasant side effect of straightening teeth with braces or clear aligners — and is a wonderful asset. It contributes to improved self-esteem, self-confidence and self-image, which are important qualities at any age.
- Teeth WhiteningTeeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures used to make your teeth whiter, brighter, and more attractive. Bleaching can also be used to whiten stained and discolored teeth, or simply to enhance a dull smile.
- Cosmetic DentistryNothing is more frustrating than trying to hold back a smile because you don’t want others to see your stained or discolored teeth. Today’s modern cosmetic dentistry techniques performed by our experienced dentists at Trillium Dental provide you with many options for enhancing your smile.
