The company s designers develop ornate elastics with plush back, picot and scallop edges. South Carolina Elastic develops bra straps and facings with Lycra spandexes for modulus control. It also produces narrow fabrics with loop closures, and knitted elastics up to 15 inches for support garments, as well as rigid webs for back supports, slings, braces and restraints. The company is a division of Rhode Island Textile, which is one of the largest manufacturers of narrow fabrics in the United States. Rhode Island Textile operates various manufacturing facilities in Rhode Island that produce shoelaces, shock and barbed cords, tassels, window treatment products and laces. Founded in 1913, Rhode Island Textile is comprised of more than 700 employees.
