Hershey Equipment, located in Lancaster, Pa., is a family-owned business that continues with its original line of installing and repairing poultry equipment, as well as offering new services. Established in 1964, it started as the distributor for Big Dutchman, one of the leading manufacturers in poultry equipment in the Middle Atlantic States. It extended its market coverage to include the Midwest and the South, setting up satellite offices in both Ohio and South Carolina to better service its customer base. It has secured distributorships for Chief Systems, designer and manufacturer of steel buildings, and Grain Sytems, designer and manufacturer of grain handling and storage equipment. Hershey Equipment has also expanded its truck maintenance facility to include a truck repair center and inspection station.
