Being photographed by Kathleen was calming and easy; she was helpful with the poses. Kathleen knows what shots are best yet listened to our input and ideas, not being reluctant to try them. Kathleen is extremely nice and made it fun, while taking care of us (it was a cold snowy day). I would highly recommend Essence Photography!

Working with Kathleen was comfortable, fun, and laugh-filled. She was encouraging which made it easier to warm up to the camera. She gave me and my sister pictures of her ideas beforehand of the shoot's style which was awesome because we could come prepared. However, they were just ideas. She made it a point that we did this "together" - she asked for our input on poses and location of shots. I love Kathleen's work because she does little editing, rather chooses to use natural lighting and her camera to capture good color. She's the real deal! She is an amazing person & photographer. She features her pictures on her blog - and writes about the individuals (their dreams, season of life, favorite quotes, etc). She is personal and loving, a true treasure!
