my wife ordered 'filet of sirloin', she said, 'cook it rare, with the moo still in it' they brought a steak that was no better than medium well. it was pink inside. we complained, she took it back, came out minutes later and said the chef told her the steak had to be cooked to 175 degrees. I told her that applies to ground beef, not steak. all they would do was give my wife a free COCKTAIL. when we were leaving we passed the owner on the way out- he added, I saw that steak in the kitchen, it looked kinda rare to me. stay away from this place, they're CLOWNS

Went there the other night with friends, our second time there. First time, about a year ago, the food was very good, this time, very disappointing. I ordered a strip steak both times. What I got the other night resembled a sandwich steak with grizzle. It was only a half inch thick with grizzle all down one side. The twice baked potato was tasteless. My friends enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms but the other woman with us took her steak home for her dog. I didn't complain to the waitress cuz I didn't want to embarrass our company. Next time, we'll try somewhere else. We don't eat out often but like a reliable place when dining.

Taking my parents out to dinner, we wanted to try a new restaurant. I suggested the Fireside Inn since it was equal distance from our homes. I was a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews but decided to give it a try anyway. And I'm VERY glad I did! We had a wonderful dinner. They were extremely accommodating in substitutions for my mother and our server was efficient and friendly. My husband's Strip steak was cooked perfectly, and I had a whitefish special that was amazingly good. My dad commented that his pasta fazool was the best he's had. All in all, we couldn't have been happier. The mashed potatoes were homemade and the twice baked were even better. They seemed to have a good bar crowd (bar is in another room). Drink prices were very reasonable. We had bottled beer at &3.00 each. They advertise lunch specials at $5.99. It was well worth the 30 minute drive and we'll definitely be back again.
THIS PLACE IS GREAT FOR A GET TOGETHER WITH FRIENDS. GOOD ATMOSPHERE!
