Raynesford Balancing Service, Inc. was established in 1931 by L.H. Doc Raynesford as the first dynamic balancing service in the Los Angeles area. The original shop was located in a building of what was then Los Angeles Ship Building, in San Pedro. We moved to Craig Shipyard, later known as California Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, in Long Beach, during World War II. In 1952, we moved to Seabright Avenue, Long Beach, where we provided services for over forty years Raynesford Balancing Service, Inc. was established in 1931 by L.H. In 1952, we moved to Seabright Avenue, Long Beach, where we provided services for over forty years.During the 90s, the business was streamlined to focus on vibration analysis and on-site balancing, with the sale of the balancing shop equipment to our main shop balancer Scott Guy, who started up Guy Balancing in Corona.Jim Raynesford,Doc s son ran the business from 1968 until 2003. He was trained by his father and through numerous seminars and classes, not to mention the thirty-five years of experience in the field.Currently, Larry Seger is the owner and senior vibration analyst and balance technician. He was trained by Jim his uncle, and has also gained knowledge from various seminars, classes, and training in vibration analysis since 1999. He is a Level 2 Vibration Specialist certified by the Vibration Institute (a main international vibration trade association). He is also certified in Confined Space and Fall Protection Safety.
