Established in 1951, The Nature Conservancy is a conservation organization engaged in protecting ecologically important lands and waters. It deals with threats to conservation involving climate change, fresh water, oceans and conservation lands. The conservancy works in all 50 states and more than 30 countries and protects habitats from grasslands to coral reefs. The American Institute of Philanthropy named it as "Top-Rated Charity". The Nature Conservancy complies with the ethical guidelines for fund raising and other nonprofit communications set forth by the Direct Marketing Association.
