Michael Campanelli, DO, has been an attending Neurosurgeon with Lakeland Regional Health since 2000 and the Chief of the Division of Neurosurgery since 2002. Dr. Campanelli is highly recognized for his expertise in treating traumatic injuries of the brain and spinal cord. His skill, experience and compassion make him an invaluable resource for Lakeland Regional Health's Trauma Services Department.Dr. Campanelli was instrumental in implementing the Brain Lab Neuro Navigation System for the removal of brain tumors at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. He has a special interest in the treatment of dementia related to normal pressure hydrocephalus. In addition to his spinal and cranial expertise, Dr. Campanelli also treats patients suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.Dr. Campanelli is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and also serves on The Board of Governors of the college. Dr. Campanelli is a member of The American Osteopathic Board of Surgery as well. He is a past recipient of Florida's Top Doctor's Award in Neurosurgery.In addition to his work at the USF/LRH Neurosciences Center, Dr. Campanelli is a faculty member of the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine Neurology Department, serving as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and is board certified in Neurosurgery.Dr. Campanelli and his family are longtime residents of Lakeland and are involved in several local charities.
