It can operate as a tabletop kiln on an all-metal table or be placed on a sturdy workbench with layers of drywall board, garden pavers, and kiln base bricks to create airspace underneath. The standard Orton AutoFire 3-button controller provides customizable firing schedules for fine-tuned results and includes preprogrammed settings for bead and boro work, 25 blank programs, and large-piece and small-piece modes for kiln-formed glass fusing.
