Dr. Greene has been practicing Urologic Oncology since 1997, specializing in care and treatment of urologic cancers affecting the prostate, bladder, kidney, adrenal, testes and penis. He also serves as Executive Director of the Hollis Cancer Center and Chief Academic Officer for Lakeland Regional Health. What is your patient care philosophy?I strive to place the patient at the center of all we do in an environment of learning and discovery. Why did you decide to become a physician?Encouragement from mentors paired with good academics influenced my decision. What do you enjoy most about working with patients?I enjoy developing personal relationships with our patients and their families. When did you know you wanted to be a doctor?Second year of undergraduate training in Honors Biology in Genetics when I became intrigued with normal physiology and aberrant process of oncogenesis (the abnormal growth of cells). How does your work improve lives?Hope is a powerful commodity we have the privilege of providing to patients What else would you like to share with our readers?I am very proud of our team at Hollis Cancer Center. What would you like people to know about you?I am an artist. My preferred medium is oil paint. I am always curious and searching for new things to learn. What are some interesting facts about you?I am originally from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. I played soccer in college and now am a big hockey fan. I also enjoy snow skiing with family. Tell us about your family.My wife, who is a dentist by trade, and I have two awesome kids: one a baby Gator at the University of Florida and the other a sophomore at Lakeland Christian School who enjoys swimming and lacrosse.
