Von Lindeman, Alexandra, DO
General Info
Alexa von Lindeman, DO, brings extensive experience and compassion to her Family Medicine practice. In addition to her Medical Degree, she completed a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research and Education from the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. von Lindeman sees patients age 2 years and older. What is your patient care philosophy? My role as a physician is to educate and empower. Why did you decide to become a physician? It was a calling. It is hard to explain any other way. What do you enjoy most about working with patients?I truly enjoy being a partner in developing a patient's health plan. Every person is unique and has a different concept of health. The key is to help each patient achieve his or her goal. When did you know you wanted to be a doctor?I was probably 4 or 5 years old. How does your work improve lives? From a simple cold to chronic conditions, my hope is that each patient feels that he or she has been listened to and cared for. Sometimes there are no quick cures, but kindness and acknowledgement can be just as healing. What are some interesting facts about you?My mother was born in Uruguay to Lithuanian immigrants, my father was born in Poland and came to the US during World War II. My husband is Brazilian. I am fluent in Spanish (but not Polish, go figure). I love interacting with people from different cultures and learning about people's backgrounds. Tell us about your family.I have been married for almost 20 years and have two children, an 11-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son. We have one dog, four cats and a fish. What childhood memory do you have about visiting the doctor?I fell off my bike when I was 8 and needed stitches for a large laceration on my chin. The physician and nurses who took care of me were kind andfunny, and they took the time to make sure thatI felt safe and that I understood everything they were going to do. They made a scary experience almost fun. What else would you like to share?I know how vulnerable it feels to be a patient and am honored when a patient chooses me as their family doctor.
