Since 1994 DITW has served people with disabilities in South Texas. It is our goal to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and encourage them to take the first step to try new experiences that previously were considered beyond their reach. By totally integrating able bodied individuals and people with disabilities at all DITW events, both go away with a new respect and understanding of one another. This enables them both to live together recognizing their similarities and strengths. The individual with a disability is the most important person to this organization. Without them there would be no need for The Door In The Wall. We are dedicated to them. They are not to be hurried away so we can do our own thing. They are our thing.
