I've stayed a total of six times during 2011. This is a excellent fishing and family resort. The staff are friendly and helpful. I've never had a problem with my bill or reservations. They are in the process of re-modeling the rooms/cottages and the results are very nice. This is not a 5 star resort. It's a fishing camp with a great location on the lake. If you want to spend a few days at the lake fishing or skiing this is a excellent choice. This is older resort so don't expect Lodge of the Four Season type stuff. No Spa treatments here. I would say if you like to fish/boat and want a inexpensive place to stay that's convenient you can't go wrong with Alhonna.

Stay away

There is a reason the approval rating is so low. We ignored it because we stayed there for years in the past and thought that people just wanted something more for kids. This is not the same place it used to be. If you want to stay at Alhona for some crazy reason, do it soon, I can’t see them being in business very much longer by the way they treat their guests. Make sure you check the dates and times and charges on your bill. We didn’t and they charged us different prices and refused to give us the deal they told us we could have. We had to leave one day earlier than we planned because they were going to charge us another day, our mistake. Then we went to check out 3 other resorts, (Alhona’s mistake!) We found that Alhona was not any cheaper and pales in comparison to every other place we checked out. We stayed the last night at Robins Resort, so much better. We also checked Kapilana which was another fantastic resort. I have pictures to of the dilapidated room, leaking faucet and we had a refrigerator that didn’t work. They gave us a key to another unit to use another one and had to haul our food across the parking lot. The next morning (8:00 am) while the guys were out fishing, 2 grubby tatood covered men came into the unit unannounced to replace the fridg.(quite unnerving). Feel free to write me at zidatc@comcast.net.
