Dr. Gold is the latest of many psychiatrists I have seen over the years. If you are looking for someone to do extensive verbal therapy with, he's *not* the guy. His practice is mainly finding the best medications for a patient, evaluating their effects over time, and making adjustments as needed. He's very skilled at this, and is a smart, caring guy. If you and he decide verbal therapy would be helpful in addition to medication, he will refer you to an appropriate psychologist. I have seen Dr. Gold for many years, and recommend him highly, with the caveat that you may need to see someone else also if you want or need extensive verbal counseling.

I was scheduled for an hour appointment. I had trouble with my kids and showed up 15 minutes late. Dr. Gold could have seen me for a 1/2 hour session, instead, he left the office to go to the post office. The receptionist tried to get him on his cell phone but received his voice mail. About five minutes later I was told he would be in the office within the next hour and that he didn't have time for me. I thought doctors were suppose to be caring and sympathetic toward patients, obviously Dr. Gold doesn't believe patients come first. Very unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend an uncaring doctor to my worst enemy.
