The Southwest Louisiana Independence Center, also known as SLIC, provide s advocacy, peer counseling and other independent living services for more than 20 parishes. The center helps in developing community options for individuals with developmental disabilities. It serves as a referral source for specific questions from consumers and the general public about disability issues. The Southwest Louisiana Independence Center assists consumers in teaching and practicing the skills related to nutrition, cooking, homemaking and the management of health care matters.
