The Division of Probation and Parole supervises adult offenders who are released back into the community on probation. Located in Lake Charles, La., the division also provides investigation and vocational rehabilitation services. The Division of Probation and Parole oversees the collection of criminal justice and supervision fees and administers victim restitution efforts. Headquartered in Baton Rouge, La., the division administers the Intensive Motivational Program of Alternative Correctional Treatment (IMPACT), which includes screening services. The Division of Probation and Parole is a part of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, which provides financial assistance and support services to crime victims. The department additionally offers employment assistance services to help individuals on probation return to normal life.
