      General Info

      The Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy ( LIMT ) offers quality education students can trust. The Institute was started by massage therapists, is taught by massage therapists, and has been operated by massage therapists since 1987. LIMT was one of the first massage schools to be licensed by the state of Louisiana and the first massage schools to provide continuing education classes. We are the oldest continually operating massage school on the Gulf coast and are still owned and operated by our founding therapist, Susan Salvo. Many of our faculty is regarded as experts in the massage field. Graduates from our school are awarded a diploma, which qualifies them to apply for National Certification and licensing exams in Louisiana, Texas, and many other states.

      The best decision I ever made! Run by national massage therapy textbook author Susan Salvo

      An in hospital internship program. The best hydrotherapy and spa class on the Gulf Coast - includes an introduction to Watsu and acquatic therapies. Owned and operated by Massage Therapists for Massage Therapists. Friendly enthusiastic and encouraging staff. Student loans and financial aid options available. Low tuition fees. Day class finishes in about 8 months - and is set up for people with families - Mon thru Thurs 930am to 200pm - drop the kids at school or daycare, go to class, pick them up afterward! Easy every other weekend class finishes in about 11 months - You can work full time during the week and go to class on alternating weekends to get your massage therapy license.
