Wow, theres SOO MUCH I COULD SAY! Dr Joe Stark and his staff are top notch/ he and his staff are compassionate, helpful, knowledgeable, and so professional! They love animals like theyre their own! He was my girl gray tabby cat Muffins vet for a little over 13 years- she was ill in 2014 with a severe liver enzyme illness and she almost passed away twice that Nov- she became ill this past Nov with elevated liver enzymes again and then severe pancreatitis which ultimately resulted in her passing away about 3 weeks ago- I couldnt have asked for better care from a veterinarian! I would Highly recommend he and his staff at Lake Area Animal Hosp in Lake Charles La- whether your cat, dog, bird, rabbit, etc needs a yearly checkup, to be spade or neutered, or extremely ill, Dr Stark and his staff will go the extra mile to be sure that your family friend is loved and well-cared for- they also have a place called Hobo Hotel for cats who might otherwise not have a home or be euthanized in the local shelter- LOVE YALL TO THE MOON AND BACK! Camille Reeves (mom to Muffin Sr and soon to a 3 mo old gray tabby girl who they named Muffin Jr who almost looks like Muffin Sr- thanks again from the bottom of my heart and saving Jr for me til she gets better/ Love Camille Reeves
Dr. Stark and his staff are wonderful caring people. The staff takes extremely good care of our fur babies, Max and Molly. I highly recommend them.
I see these negative reviews but he was nothing but awesome when I would bring my rescues to him and my own cats Would give me a discount and other helpful services Very fond of him Would go back to him if I was in the area again

Absolutely the worst animal hospital I've ever seen. Neutering baby kittens at 10 days old and giving rabbies shots when they are so young that they will need to have the shot again. I was told that my kitten was 12 weeks old when I adopted him to find out that he was really 7 to 8 weeks old. When I adopted him he was very sick and when I took him to Lake Area Animal Hospital and I was given me dication for his diarrhea only to find out that he was prescribed three times the amount he should have had. I later learned that my kitten's brother died the same day that I had him at a new vet because he was so ill. BEWARE of this facility. They are just trying to push adoption and not caring about the animals at all. I will be reporting this facility. If you love your furry family, re-think this facility.

Sorry to temperarily add a negative about Dr. Joe Stark. Problem is that he,s lost my sweetheart. He walked my critically ill Pug outside and lost her. I of coarse was upset. She just simply is irreplaceable. Igot very upset and Ido not like that I did. However many things were,nt proper leading up to her becoming Lost. I,now truly wish just to have her found hopefully by Dr. stark so that all can be correct and so that it can be just that rare incident out of all else great that I,ve heard of Dr. Stark and be able to relay my apology to D.r Stark alsdresume my life with my canine sweetheart that I ,m certain misses me desperatly also.
