This school has come a VERY long way since I first started. Although we have lost some good teachers, we have gained some GREAT ones, who are very inspiring & eager to help you succeed! Anyone interested in attending should definitely visit an Open House or come & sit in on a class, or even get your haircut as a way to 'scope out' the place! for only $8, might as well! Overall, it is a great school, pretty-laid back, & a good learning environment. There is never a dull moment!

New owner New location, I had read bad reviews on the school but one of my friends is going there and I asked her about the place she said it was totally different and there is a new owner and they moved to a new spot. so I made appt and liked the people I met. I am currenlty enrolling right now , just wanted to let everyone know

I started at Lake Forest in March of this year and have been very pleased with the opportunities that have come from it. I have heard stories of what the school was previously like and I must say it's nothing like it used to be. The school is under new ownership since last year and the new owner, Miss Heidi, has her heart in it for the students. She really cares and is taking very extreme steps to give us an amazing education. She has hired a few teachers that have been/are platform artists and educators for Paul Mitchell. They have given us opportunity that a normal beauty college would not. We've been working fashion shows and have been able to get out and network with salons and many of us are landing asissting jobs based on this networking. We also still have a couple of other teachers that concentrate on state board and theory. They are also very amazing & care about the future of the students. LFBC has a very high passing rate with state board. If you are considering beauty & fashion for your future & are on a budget, I highly recommend enrolling at Lake Forest. The owner cares... the teachers care. They're giving opportunity and education that you can't find on a budget... Soooo take it

This school has Instructors/Administrative/Faculty staff that thinks it is okay to practice discrimination, or so it seems. Several students have complained of being picked out of the class for any petty detail for suspension (Which costs the students money to return). Whether it is due to the student's race, color, gender, religion etc. or just based on pure IGNORANCE, WHO REALLY KNOWS, but it seems as if discrimination is being tolerated at this school! Not to mention the sanitary level has been compared to that of a garbage dump and with little to no supplies available for the students to be effective. It is unfortunate that this college is recognized as an accredited beauty school. You can both find out first hand and write a review yourself or there are alternatives that may cost a bit more, but at least you will be treated with respect and like a PAYING CUSTOMER should be treated. From what it sounds like, you definitely get what you pay for at this school! Please beware!!
