Johnnie Gachassin's approach is shaped by both her studies and her own life experience. Pia Mellody and Terry Real have had a large impact on Johnnie's studies and interests. Pia continues to have an ongoing impact through Johnnie's continued dedication to training. Johnnie's approach is diverse and adaptive; meeting you where your needs are. Johnnie practices psychotherapy with adult individuals, groups, and couples, with a focus on unresolved childhood trauma using Family of Origin. Johnnie conducts workshops for small groups treating any less-than-nurturing events impacting adult life. Johnnie uses the Developmental Immaturity Model and clients Family of Origin. Individuals learn the concept of inherent worth, experience Inner Child and Feeling Reduction work to create functional adult boundaries for dealing with the reality of adult life situations and to practice effective self-care. Johnnie treats relationship issues, regarding respect, by cultivating talking and listening boundaries. Family of Origin history is used to identify and treat un-solved childhood wounds creating adult dysfunction regarding depression, anxiety, addictions, eating disorders and painful relationships.
