The La Vista Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department works to provide fire and emergency services through fire suppression, basic and advanced life support, emergency medical transport, and rescue and public fire safety education. It supports a smoke detector installation and inspection program. The department houses aerial and weed trucks, engines with vehicle rescue capabilities, a mobile command unit and ambulances. The La Vista Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is comprised of more than 50 members. It operates a communication and dispatch center that coordinates responses to fire and emergency medical calls. The department provides fire alarm system permits and offers information regarding equipment and vehicle safety. The La Vista Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is located in La Vista, Neb.
