- UltrasoundDr. Benjamin DuBois is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who devotes 100% of his practice to the treatment of shoulder disorders. Dr. DuBois has expert training in shoulder surgery, and has extensive experience in shoulder replacements, rotator cuff disorders, and arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He is trained in state of the art techniques including the reverse total shoulder replacement and specializes in ultrasound-guided Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections of the shoulder.
- ArthroscopyArthroscopy. This procedure uses specialized equipment, including cameras to look into a joint and address any problems that might be found.
- Joint ReplacementHe attended orthopaedic surgery residency at University of California San Diego where he studied under Dr. Scott Ball in the Adult Reconstruction service. UCSD provided him with a strong education in both total joint replacement as well as orthopaedic trauma surgery. As a chief resident, he was awarded The Chief Resident Teaching Award for his work mentoring junior residents.
- Orthopedic SurgeryAfter his orthopedic surgery training at the University of Washington, Seattle, he was awarded the prestigious orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the internationally famous Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. In Vail, he trained under Dr. Richard Steadman and Dr. Richard Hawkins in knee and shoulder surgery, working with athletes and dignitaries from around the globe.
- ArthroscopyDr. Hanson came home to La Mesa and joined Grossmont Orthopaedic Medical Group in August of 1992 and has enjoyed all aspects of his orthopaedic practice, which includes sports medicine, arthroscopy, shoulder reconstruction and lower extremity total joint replacement including introducing the anterior hip approach to East County. He has held major leadership positions that have been focused on patient care. He has been Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery, and for over 12 years has served as the Medical Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at Grossmont Hospital, a position that involves orchestrating the Total Joint Replacement program for the hospital. At Grossmont Hospital, he has served as Chief of Staff, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Grossmont Hospital and the Board of Directors for Sharp Healthcare.
- Hip ReplacementHe hopes to serve all of San Diego county in terms of musculoskeletal care, with a focus on robotic-assisted total knee replacement, direct anterior total hip replacement, as well as revision hip and knee arthroplasty.
- Knee ReplacementDr. Yoo spent one year in Houston, Texas after residency attending the UT Houston Adult Reconstruction Fellowship. He credits his fellowship for a strong training in robotic-assisted knee replacement, anterior and posterior total hip arthroplasty, and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, with a particular emphasis on periprosthetic fracture and infection management around the hip and knee. His research focused on robotic-assisted 3D modulation of total knee implants to decrease soft tissue releases as well as periprosthetic fractures about the hip.
- Reconstructive SurgeryHis broad expertise includes arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and knee and treatment of athletic injuries. He currently serves as a Team Orthopedic Surgeon for the United States Olympic Team at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. Dr. Hacker was previously affiliated during his fellowship with the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and formerly served as a team orthopaedic surgeon for the US Olympic Ski Team. Dr. Hacker continues to treat professional, college, high school and recreational athletes.
