The Best in La Mesa La Torta Caf is the best Mexican restaurant in La Mesa, in my opinion. It used to serve only tortas for years and years. Then, this year they added traditional Mexican food. Oh yeah. A couple of months ago, I went to see Miguel Rojas the owner of the restaurant. As a lover of rolled tacos, I had to order some. Absolutely, the best I have ever tasted. They were great. A friend of mine had a burrito that was huge. He loved it. We now have a contingent of our employees driving there every week. La Torta is a Mexican Deli serving 40 different tortas, Mexican dishes, and the best rolled tacos and churros in San Diego County. Also serving excellent beer and wine, and with delicious salads, soups and appetizers. Located in the quaint downtown Village of La Mesa, it is convenient from either Interstate 8 or Interstate 125.
