Good compassionate and competent doctor. His office staff barricades them from the patients behind a glass partition. I got used to it quickly. Dr. Berchin is affiliated with Grossmont Hospital. I delivered my #2 there in 2003. The delivery room staff were were great. The neonatal unit was a a big disappointment. Only one night nurse in the whole floor. Minimal help in caring for my newborn daughter. No encouragement or education on breastfeeding. A marked different experience from Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, where my #1 was born! Had I known it before delivery I probably would have still chosen Dr. Berchin and Grossmont, except arrange for some help during the night. As it was my DH had to care for my then two year old and I had to fend for myself. I left a day early!
