General Info

Robyn Cunard, MD is board-certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine, with a special interest in glomerular diseases. She specializes in General Nephrology-Hypertension care, Hemodialysis and Apheresis.{line break}Dr. Cunard was trained at McGill Medical School and did a rotating internship in Vancouver British Columbia. In Vancouver she worked for a couple of years as a General Practitioner and then trained at UCSD in Internal Medicine and Nephrology-Hypertension. She has been at UC San Diego and the VASDHS since 2001.{line break}Dr. Cunard runs a basic science laboratory at the VASDHS and studies glomerular diseases including diabetic kidney disease and acute kidney injury. She enjoys the challenges of academic medicine and the translation of scientific advances in molecular biology into the realm of clinical care. {line break}When not at work Dr. Cunard can be found at home with her two children and dachshunds, enjoying the outdoors.
