Matthew Wieduwilt, MD, PhD, is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist who cares for people with blood cancers, with a special focus in acute leukemia and bone marrow transplantation. He is a part of the joint https://health.ucsd.edu/specialties/cancer/programs/hematologic/BMT/Pages/default.aspx, which provides patients with the unique opportunity to receive care from the same physician throughout all phases of blood cancer treatment. His care emphasizes evidence-based medicine with a thoughtful, personalized approach to develop the most effective treatment and supportive care plans for his patients. He is also dedicated to conducting clinical trials with novel agents and regimens to expand treatment options for patients getting care at UC San Diego Health, and to further the clinical science of acute leukemia treatment and bone marrow transplantation. Dr. Wieduwilt completed a fellowship and residency at UCSF. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
