Amber Sanchez, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist and medical director of the https://health.ucsd.edu/specialties/apheresis/Pages/default.aspx at UC San Diego Health. She treats people for a variety of kidney-related conditions in both the clinic and the inpatient setting. She enjoys the practice of nephrology as the kidneys are important in the regulation of many key functions of the body, including blood pressure, anemia, vitamin D regulation and electrolyte control. Her approach to care emphasizes personalized treatment plans for each patient, and dedicating time during her visits to educate individuals about their particular diagnosis.In addition to her nephrology practice, Dr. Sanchez performs apheresis, a medical procedure that involves passing a person's blood through a device that separates out a component of the blood from its other parts and returns the remainder of the blood into circulation.
