General Info

Established in 1898, Kodiak Military History Museum is located in the Ready Ammunition bunker at the Miller Point in Fort Abercrombie. Some of the items on display at the museum include radio/electronics, fire control telephones, field telephones, typewriters, newspapers, books, manuals, artillery shells, fire control equipment, bombs, mess gear, gas marks and large aerial photos. In addition, the museum displays uniforms, fire fighting apparatus, Japanese fire hydrant, wood culvert, flags, aircraft parts, postal covers and a library. Kodiak Military History Museum is open anytime for World War II veterans or groups by prior appointment.
