The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra is a local cultural gem, with Masterworks, Pops, Family, Outdoor, and Chamber concert series. The concerts are generally held at the beautifully renovated Tennessee Theatre on (Family and Masterworks series), at the Civic Auditorium (Pops and School series), or at the Bijou Theatre (Chamber series). Maestro Lucas Richman is the Music Director. The KSO presents great Masterworks concerts- which features the full orchestra (60+ musicians) playing some of the best music ever written. Recent exceptional concerts included works by Mahler, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Corigliano, Brahms, Mozart, Shostakovich, Ravel, and Tchaikovsky.
