Founded in 1854, the Knoxville Fire Department provides fire protection and rescue services. It serves more than 150,000 citizens. The Knoxville Fire Department has over 300 full-time firefighters and approximately 40 fire suppression and rescue units. It also has nearly 15 fire stations.
