Calhoun's is a part of Copper Cellar Restaurants, which also operates Cappuccino's, Cherokee Grill, Chesapeake s, Copper Cellar, Cumberland Grill and Smoky Mountain Brewery. The restaurant was first opened in West Knoxville, Tenn., in 1983. Its menu primarily features barbecue classics of Eastern Tennessee. The restaurant offers various signature dishes, such as hickory-smoked baby-back ribs, buffalo wings, fried green tomatoes, ale steak, Southern-fried catfish, rotisserie chicken, strawberry shortcake and key lime pie. Its menu also includes a variety of salads, sandwiches and burgers. The restaurant serves a selection of handcrafted, micro-brewed beers, including Appalachian Pale Ale, Brown Trout Stout, Kilt-Tilter Scotish Ale, LeConte Lager and Wildcard Brew. Additionally, it provides banquet and catering services for breakfasts, lunches, dinners, wedding receptions and rehearsal dinners. The restaurant offers gift cards and souvenirs, such as T-shirts, embroidered caps, Calhoun s Pig Hats and glassware. Calhoun's operates nearly 10 full-service locations in Tennessee and maintains a presence in Knoxville, Tenn.
