- NeurosurgeryDr. Refaat El-Said is a board-certified neurologist with specializations in epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, and sleep medicine. He started his medical career at Ain Shams University, School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt, where he completed his residency in neurosurgery. Dr. El-Said then obtained his neurology residency training at Vanderbilt University and finished a clinical neurophysiology fellowship at Vanderbilt as well. His training had a focus on epilepsy management, including epilepsy surgery and neuromodulation including vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) and responsive neural stimulation (RNS) or neuropace. He is specialized in the treatment of epilepsy disorders, including preoperative preparation for epilepsy surgery.
