- Traffic ViolationsGreat Experience with this attorney. I contacted Schoen after I was arrested for a DUI charge in the Seattle area. I had never even had an interaction with a police officer other than a speeding ticket in my life (> 40y). I have an executive level software job in the Seattle area so this whole episode was quite the shock to me. I am 100% responsible for not keeping track of my drinking that evening but on the cab ride home that night after being arrested and booked I thought my life was about over. I called Schoen the next morning and his calm demeanor and vast knowledge of the legal system was a huge relief to me. I met with him the following week to discuss my case. I could tell within 15m that I would hire him to represent me. I never felt judged by him even though I fully admit that I was guilty. He gave me good advice and explained in detail what would happen. If you call/email him he will get back to you right away and never makes you feel like your questions are rushed. Schoen also has a DOL expert who can answer questions about license suspension, ignition interlock devices, ORL, and how to get your license back. All of which I needed in my case. He even answered a few questions after officially he was not required to do so about my driving restrictions. In my case having a conviction was a serious career issue. Schoen went into detail about what was possible and talked to the prosecutor on multiple occassions. While I wished I could have had my entire case dismissed that was just not possible given the evidence the state had. Schoen got me the best possible deal and helped me understand each step of the way. I am grateful that I hired him to handle this case and would highly recommend him to any other people that get into a bad situation.
- Sex CrimesIndividuals with class A felony or sex offense convictions (unless juvenile) will not be eligible to have their rights restored. However if you have completed the waiting period and all necessary requirements under most circumstances, you will be eligible to reinstate your second amendment rights. We may petition to have your gun rights restored once the following requirements are fulfilled;
- Robbery
- Burglary
- Theft
- MisdemeanorsIt is very common for employers, landlords or lenders to turn you away after reviewing the results of your criminal background check. In many misdemeanor and felony cases, as well as juvenile cases, it is possible to vacate a criminal conviction and seal your criminal record from public view.
- Drug CrimesBeing arrested for DUI, drug possession, assault, theft or any other criminal charge can be intimidating if you do not have confidence in your defense lawyer. If you are convicted of a crime, you will have to live with the consequences for a long time. That conviction can come back to haunt you every time you apply for a job, rent an apartment or even take out a loan.
- Assault
- MurderWhen excessive or deadly force is used against an intruder, law enforcement will conduct a thorough investigation to determine what happened and evaluate if the force used was warranted. By intervening at this stage, I can present your side of the story and any evidence to support it. In some cases, it will be determined that the amount of force was warranted and charges will not be filed. However, if law enforcement determines that the amount of force was not justified, you could face charges for unlawful discharge of a firearm, felony assault, negligent homicide or murder.
- Juvenile Crimes
- Probation ViolationThe consequences of a probation violation are intentionally severe. If convicted, you may face imprisonment, large fines, and other penalties, and it is in your best interests to immediately seek legal counsel. If you have been accused of a probation violation anywhere in Snohomish County or King County, I can help.
- HomicideWhile it may be your hope that you will never have to use it, it is your right to protect yourself and your family. Unfortunately, some people who use a firearm or other deadly force against an intruder are perceived to have used more force than was necessary for the situation – and ultimately face homicide charges.
- Restraining OrderIn many cases, this can lead to criminal charges for domestic violence and the imposition of a no-contact order or other form of restraining order.
- ManslaughterIf you drive through a stop sign and injure someone in a car accident while you are sober, you may only receive a traffic infraction. However, if the state can prove that the accident was alcohol or drug-related, you can be charged with vehicular assault, which is a felony. A felony conviction can result in a mandatory prison sentence and a lifetime criminal record. If the person in the other vehicle died, you can be charged with vehicular homicide or manslaughter.
