Gateway Community Industries, founded in 1857 and a nonprofit agency, operates vocational rehabilitation and training centers for patients with mental disorders and physical disabilities. It offers a variety of services, such as vocational evaluation, job training and placement assistance, work center employment, continuing day treatment, and psychiatric rehabilitation and independent residential programs. The recovery programs offered by the agency include case management, family counseling, relapse prevention, and career planning. It also operates a more than 35,000-square-feet of production space that manufactures office and lighting products, and offers a variety of services, such as contract packaging, custom cleaning and food service management.
