- Computed TomographyThis hip replacement treatment option is designed to relieve the pain caused by joint degeneration due to arthritis. With the new MAKOplasty system, CVOSM can offer patients a personalized surgical experience tailored to their individual alignment. Using a CT scan, the surgeon uses a 3D model of the hip to design an individualized surgical plan. The robotic arm allows the surgeon to achieve precise alignment with the implants, less cutting and drilling of the bone, and less soft tissue involvement. This leads to decreased pain and swelling after surgery, allowing the patient to experience a faster and easier recovery. Patients are also experiencing a shorter length of stay in the hospital and decreased need for opiate analgesics.
- OrthopedicsAn arthroscope is a small, pencil-size instrument that has a fiber-optic head. The fibers beam light into a joint and projects a picture to a special camera, allowing our orthopedics center's experts to diagnose, treat, or repair ligaments-particularly for arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery. This procedure is also used to remove loose elements in a joint.
