The Center Star Volunteer Fire Department was incorporated as a fire district by the state of Alabama in 1980. The department provides fire protection and rescue services. It provides emergency medical solutions to more than 1,500 homes. The Center Star Volunteer Fire Department maintains a fleet of engines, trucks and tankers. The department provides fire prevention safety tips for residents. It also offers safety solutions for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Center Star Volunteer Fire Department conducts training sessions related to disaster preparedness. It is a member of the Lauderdale County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments and the Alabama Association of Volunteer Fire Departments.
