Wisconsin Indian Education Association is a nonprofit organization, established in 1985 and headquartered in Keshena, Wis. The company s range of activities include recruitment and retention of minorities in the Wisconsin Technical College system, providing inputs to the University of Wisconsin s system design and serving as an advisory to the state superintendent and the Department of Public Instruction for programs that affect Indian students in the public school system. The association also provides testimony before the Wisconsin state legislature on issues, such as increasing the maximum award for the Indian grant and introducing Indian mascots and logos in public schools. Wisconsin Indian Education Association provides scholarships to eligible American Indian students, educators, parents and elders every year.
